The first version of this short story was for a class assignment right around the time of publishing Until Winter’s Fall, but I couldn’t let it go after writing it. It was fitting, I thought, to finally have Marcus’s perspective on the pivotal duel. And so, I decided to clean it up and bring it into the world.
